2K Hires Popular Battle Royale Lead to Rescue Challenged Hero Shooter Ambitious Title

The renowned publisher has appointed Ben Brinkman from the creators of Apex Legends to oversee the development team at 31st Union, which is currently developing the anticipated over-the-shoulder action-packed title known as this innovative game.

Management Change Follows Lukewarm Response

Brinkman steps into the role of studio head at the development studio following the departure of previous head Michael Condrey, who was reportedly let go due to the game's disappointing early showing last fall.

Recently, 2K president David Ismailer informed staff about this decision through an official communication, which emphasized that playtesting had shown the need for a more defined vision.

Ismailer stated that the developers is now overhauling the project with a revised approach, aiming to satisfy community desires.

Trend of Key Recruitment

This announcement echoes a similar action taken by 2K Games in August, when they hired an industry veteran from Blizzard to assist with the beloved franchise development group.

Here is the full text from Ismailer's memo:

Dear Team—

I know you all just finished your town hall - I hope you’re as enthusiastic as I am with the recent updates. Previously I sent you all a note, I stated the following: “I believe in this crew. You all are some of the most dedicated and talented creators we have had the opportunity to work with - and we’re eager for that relationship to continue.”

With your dedication and flexibility, particularly over the last year, you consistently demonstrate that.
